Color is the ultimate tool a designer has at his or her disposal to communicate feeling and mood. Cymbolism is a new website that attempts to quantify the association between colors and words, making it simple for designers to choose the best colors for the desired emotional effect.
Sorry for the sluggishness of the website over the past couple of days, traffic is climbing (that’s a good thing right?!?) and the server is having trouble keeping up.

You might want to randomize the color swatches with each question - you’ll notice that the ones closest to the word (physically on the screen) are often getting the most clicks. Eliminate variables.

@cameron: If there is bias, based on the location of the swatches, I think I’d rather have the swatches be positioned the same each time so that bias can be factored into the calculations.
If the swatches are randomized then the bias would be incalculable.
